infographs: FINAL REFLECTION

In this project I was able to better see how I was developing my creative process. I started with the research - which I had to do in a very methodical way. The rest of the time was spent coming up with and refining my info-graphic systems.

An important lesson was learned by being forced to incorporate the already developed icons into the info-graph. it would be one thing to just throw the icons onto the infograph to make it look nice, but it was more important to make the icon really integrated into the infograph - so that if you were to take them away the whole system of information would no longer make sense. Knowing how to incorporate something in such a way into another thing is an important skill to have - it's an important sensibility that every designer should have.

We repeated this lesson in another way by then incorporating the informational graphic structures into the magazine spreads - making sure that every thing made sense both formally and conceptually. It is important that things are well visualized so as to be legible, meaningful and interesting but AT THE SAME TIME everything that is visual should be contextually (conceptually) pertinent.
